All my life I have been looking for a quick fix weight loss solution and I have finally found it!
After a particularly over-indulgent Christmas and an all-inclusive holiday over the New Year, I had put on almost a whole stone in weight. Drastic action was needed.
I opted for the Three Day Cleanse from www.amandahamilton.co.uk, a multi-tasking cleanse that supports weight loss and digestive health, delivered to my door. A box arrived the next day, packed with cold pressed coconut water, lime and pomegranate juice and coconut and vegetable kefirs - all of them pure and nutritious. Had I gone shopping to buy my own – not only would I have not known exactly what to buy or blend, but temptation for other food and drinks would have been put in my path.
I set aside three days when I would be very busy with work and where I knew I had exercise classes to go to the in the evening, with no plans for meals out or going for a drink. I also pre-recooked the family’s food and made sure I had the right mind set and couldn’t wait to get started with my eyes on the prize – a slimmer, healthier body!
My daily calorie intake on the cleanse is 994 kcal and all sugar (even from fruit), alcohol, dairy, meat, fish and carbohydrates are completely banned. I’m not really a coffee drinker, but was told that caffeine would not impact the overall effect if I needed to drink it black. Initially, I panicked that I would crave all the bad things and become ravenously hungry and irritable, but miraculously, I can honestly say I never did. I started each day small coconut flavoured shot bottle – a little bland, but not unpleasant, then sipped on the the large bottles of blended vegetable juices in different flavours, which were surprisingly filling. I couldn’t even manage a whole bottle in one sitting! Did I miss food and fancy biting into something? Of course, but on day two, I steamed some kale and a corn on the cob, which I ate without butter or oil and that seemed to curb my need to chew! Even included in the pack was some delicious raw coconut milk so that I could enjoy a guilt-free pudding – it was the closest healthy alternative to cream or ice cream that I have ever tried and, although I probably wouldn’t eat it on its own in future, I would definitely have it with fruit or use it as a topping on desserts.
So three days on, I have lost a whole 5 pounds, as well as an inch and a half off my waist and an inch off my hips. My jeans feel loose and my belly and waist are visibly flatter and smaller. What more could I ask for?
